A year of padel.

Every set I logged in the past twelve months — who I played with, who I played against, and how it all changed as the year went on.

November was peak obsession.

107 sets across 24 days — I was on court most days that month. The busiest single week was the holiday stretch from Dec 29 to Jan 4: 32 sets.

02

My form, set by set.

Win rate over my last 50 sets at every point in the year. It topped out at 88% in mid-November and bottomed at 52% in late May. The second half of the year (68%) ran a little cooler than the first (71%).

03

The great migration.

I spent the first half of the year at Play Padel Mandaluyong. My first set at Play Padel McKinley was Apr 3 — by Q3, 72% of my sets were there. My last Mandaluyong set was Sep 23.

The one venue that beats me: Manila Polo Club, 46% across 26 sets. My notes have one tip — don't play there in slippery shoes.

04

Partner seasons.

Henrik led (or co-led) my partner list three quarters straight — 70 sets in all. Then the McKinley move shuffled the deck.

05

Henrik: partner and rival.

A running tally of every set involving Henrik: +1 when I win it, −1 when I lose it. With him on my side, it's a steady climb to +30 (50–20). Across the net, he pushed me down to −3 by late January before I pulled ahead to +10 (54–44).

06

The dream team.

Among partners with 15+ sets together, these are the ones I almost never lose with. Butch is the steadiest — 39 sets, and never below 82% in any quarter.

07

Favorite enemy.

I've faced Mark in 105 sets — more than anyone — and won 78%. It's not a fluke: I've beaten him in at least two of every three sets, every quarter.

08

The nemeses.

The same running tally for the three opponents I beat least often (30+ sets). All three had me underwater early — Wesley had me at −5 by mid-December. By mid-2026 I'd pushed every rivalry positive (Pancho as high as +10 in June), but they've been clawing it back since. Wesley and I are now separated by a single set.

09

Streaks and clutch moments.

My hottest run came in mid-November, my coldest in August. When it's close, I usually close it out — and sudden-death golden points suit me better than long deuce battles (75% vs 63%).

My weekly rhythm.

Fridays are my busiest and among my best days (75%). Saturdays are my worst (63%). And the circle keeps growing: I've played with or against 64 new people since January.
